For our productivity, we need to
organize our time schedule for make all us never miss important plan.
There are several way to organize our schedule, it can be use offline
with a book or agenda, and we also can optimize our gadgets. For
myself, I use my Samsung i780 with Windows Mobile 6.1 to organize my
schedule. But I also use my computer to maintain the schedule. I use
Thunderbird with Lightning Add-on. For synchronize between my
computer and my PDA, I use Google Calendar service.
At this article we will talk about
synchronize Samsung i780 Windows Mobile 6.1 with Google. Google have
many free services, Email, Calendar, Address Book, and many more. For
using it services, we have to have Google account by sign up with it.
After we finish creating account, than we can freely use Google
Calendar. For make my Windows Mobile PDA can syncronize with Google
Calendar, I don't need to install any other software for my PDA. Just
use default ActiveSync software which is already installed together
with Windows Mobile 6.1 OS.
Before doing synchronize, we have to
make sure to backup all important data at our Windows Mobile to
prevent lose by accident.
Step by step :
Open Active Sync from menu >
Program > ActiveSyn
- Press Menu in the bottom right
- Choose Configure Server
- At Server address field, write:
m.google.com, choose the option for SSL is on, then press next
- At User Information, enter
username and password field, leave domain field blank. This have to fill with Google account username and password.
- At Edit Server Setting, choose
Done, after that you can directly press
Sync buttom (at bottom left) for start synchronize your Samsung i780
Windows Mobile PDA with Google Calendar. This is good because we can always
synchronize our PDA and Google (and computer) time schedule. This
step also can use for all PDA with Windows Mobile 6 above (I don't
know for WM5, but I think it also work with it).
