New Acer Aspire 4736 come with Core 2 Duo Processor T6500, Intel Chipset, 320MB hard disk, 1GB DDR3 memory. This package include CD driver for Windows XP and Windows Vista, and some pdf manual. At this article I would like to share solution for Acer Aspire 4736 sound card problem.

For some reason, than I choose to install Microsoft Windows XP at this laptop. Everything work fine after finish installed Windows XP Service Pack 3, and installed other driver which is need by Aspire 4736. But I just realized that something problem with soundcard driver, because I can not find sound volume controller near Windows XP clock at bottom right of the desktop. When I open Device Manager, sound already installed but there are one PCI which is not installed properly (with yellow mark), I'm sure this unknown device is sound card.

How to Install Acer Aspire 4736 Sound Card Driver at Windows XP ?

After searching some information at Google, I've found solution for Acer Aspire 4736 sound card problem. First I have to know the Device Instance Id from Device Manager > choose the device > Properties > Details > Device Instance Id. The id is : VEN_8086&DEV_293E. This is about Microsoft* High Definition Audio Package.

This is the solution: To install Acer Aspire 4736 sound card driver, we have to download kb888111.exe from Microsoft* High Definition Audio Package first for Windows XP Service Pack 2. So what I have to do is reinstall Windows XP with Service Pack 2, then installed the kb888111.exe, then installed the audio driver which come at CD driver package.

Windows XP with Service Pack 2 > kb888111.exe > Audio Driver > Windows XP Service Pack 3

After do the steps above, my Acer Aspire 4736 sound card is appear and working, so I can listen the sound.
