There are so many free email provider at internet. Gmail from Google and YahooMail from Yahoo are the free kind of email email service. Everyone can register for free, and have full access for their web mail services. Also for other service such as Calendar, Chat, document, and many more. Beside give free web mail access, some of the free services also give POP3 access for free. We can get POP3 access for free from Gmail.com and HotPop.com and many more. For POP3 access at Yahoo.com, we have to pay less then $20 every year.

We can access POP3 mail server to download and delete several or all of our email. For connect to POP3 mail server, we have to installed email client first at our computer. Thunderbird is fully recommended for send and receive also for manage our email. Eudora, Pegasus, OperaMail and etc are other email client with similar function.

What I want to talk at this article is about check and delete email  with POP3 connection without have to download all at our computer. Let's say if we just want to check or clean our mailbox from spam mail, or if we are not at our own computer. I used to do it with JBMail for free, but now, that service was not free anymore. So I find other software and found POPCORN mail checker.

POPCORN is a free and very small files to run from our computer. We do not have to install from the installer, just run the single file from computer explorer, then it will automatically create a popcorn.ini at the same directory. The popcorn.ini saved the main POPCORN settings and the account for download or manage email. This is very good, because we can copy all of the popcorn.exe and popcorn.ini at flash disk to bring anywhere and connect to any computer to check the email. The POPCORN is connect using POP3 for receive email, and use SMTP for send the email. POPCORN also can receive an attachment and connect at SSL encryption like Gmail POP3 server.

With POPCORN, we can create several email account, with different email servers. We have to write our username but we can choose 'do not remember' password if we care about the password security. So, if we do not save the password, the program will ask as the password once we try to download or manage the POP3 server. The password also will ask again when we try to delete the email from server. Becareful to delete email, because the email will be deleted permanently, without go to trash folder.
